Welcome Downtown: A Creative New Space Opens at Mayhem & Mirth
Tucked into the heart of Nevada, Missouri, a burst of creativity has arrived in the form of Mayhem & Mirth—a vibrant new creative workshop that’s as playful as its name suggests. Located at 209 West Walnut, this isn’t your typical studio space; it’s a hands-on, come-as-you-are hub where imagination runs wild and everyone is invited to join in. Whether you’re a seasoned artist or someone who hasn’t picked up a paintbrush in years, Mayhem & Mirth makes it easy (and fun) to dive right in.
What truly sets the studio apart is its commitment to turning the old into something extraordinary. Using recycled and repurposed materials, each class becomes a chance to transform everyday items into unique works of art. From reimagined home décor to one-of-a-kind mixed media pieces, creativity here is all about seeing potential where others might not. It’s not just art—it’s sustainability with a splash of whimsy.
Even better, Mayhem & Mirth is built around community. With a wide range of classes designed for all ages and skill levels, it’s a place where neighbors can connect, laugh, and create together. Their next class will be Tinfoil & Takeout, happening on May 1st at 6 p.m. -which includes fashioning your own tin foil hat while discussing conspiracy theories. They will also be holding game nights as well like a Dungeon and Dragons Club and a themed murder podcast with projects to make that connect the murder in question.
Whether you’re looking for a new hobby, a night out with friends, or a creative spark, this lively studio promises a little chaos, a lot of joy, and endless inspiration.
“We really want people to have a relaxed, fun place to go.” says Deb Benner, owner.
