Main Street Alliance Accepts $3,000 Matching Donation from Nevada/Vernon County Community Foundation

The Main Street Alliance was proud to meet this week with the Nevada/Vernon County Community Foundation to officially accept the Foundation’s $3,000 matching donation in support of restoring the historic caboose at Earp Park.

This matching donation meant that every dollar contributed by community members was doubled—up to $3,000—allowing us to make even greater progress toward bringing the caboose back to life.

The caboose is a cherished piece of our local history, representing the role the railroad played in shaping Nevada and Vernon County. Restoring it not only preserves that history but also strengthens Earp Park as a community gathering place and point of pride for residents and visitors.

We are grateful to the Nevada/Vernon County Community Foundation for their generosity and commitment to investing in projects that preserve and enhance our community. Their partnership helps make this restoration possible, and we are excited to continue working together to see it through.
