The Biggest Second Thursday Yet: Cherry Street Fusion Festival Recap

Last Updated 9/17/2025Posted in News

Nevada’s downtown came alive on September 11 for the very first Cherry Street Fusion Festival, a full-day celebration of community, creativity, and connection. Hosted by The Boutique Marketplace, Red Cherry Alley, and With Doug TV, the festival transformed Cherry Street into a hub of activity where music, shopping, food, and fun all fused together into one unforgettable experience.

From morning until night, visitors explored local vendors, enjoyed live entertainment, and soaked in the vibrant energy of Nevada’s historic downtown. More than just an event, the Cherry Street Fusion Festival showcased the power of collaboration and the spirit of small-town pride.

Music at the Cherry Street Fusion Festival

Doug Harper, owner of Red Cherry Alley and With Doug TV, brought his passion for live music and local talent straight to Cherry Street. For him, the festival wasn’t just another show — it was about giving artists a platform to be discovered and celebrated right in the heart of the community.

The crowd responded with energy, dancing and singing along throughout the day and night. From Harper’s own “Dangerous Doug” fire truck sing-along to sets by the Osage Outlaws, Matthew “The American Busker” Harper, A.M. Jamison, Timmy Miano, Left of Center, and Matteson Gregory, every performance drew genuine engagement and connection.

Looking ahead, Harper is keeping the momentum alive through his media platforms. With Doug TV continues to spotlight local artists with shows like Lunch With Doug and the upcoming Headbanger Garage, plus behind-the-scenes coverage of the 417 music scene. And for fans, even his quirky With Doug trading cards offer a collectible way to celebrate local music culture.

Matteson Gregory at the American Legion

During the Cherry Street Fusion Festival, the American Legion came alive with far more activity than a usual night. The highlight was Matteson Gregory’s performance, which filled the room with energy and gave both regulars and new visitors a reason to stay, listen, and connect.

Live music fit seamlessly with the Legion’s atmosphere, turning it into a true community gathering spot. The success of the evening showed how powerful events like this can be — and left the door wide open for more live performances in the future.

Vendors & Local Flavor

The Cherry Street Fusion Festival brought together around 25 vendors, filling Cherry Street with everything from handmade goods to delicious eats. Festival-goers browsed unique products while enjoying treats from local favorites like Faith Freedom Rootbeer and Spudzies, adding plenty of flavor to the day.

Back to Eden Homestead, owned by Jennifer Boude, was one of the many vendors sharing their craft. Jennifer highlighted her love for seasonal flavors like pumpkin, cinnamon, and apple — a theme woven into her breads, cookies, and her new pumpkin cream cheese muffins that quickly became a hit. She shared that events like this help her reach new customers, reconnect with familiar faces, and enjoy being part of a vibrant food and vendor mix.

Festival Vision

The Cherry Street Fusion Festival wasn’t just another downtown event — it was the biggest Second Thursday yet. For Stephanie Mosher, owner of The Boutique Marketplace, the expanded scale was the result of three months of weekly planning meetings, reaching out to vendors, and coordinating food and entertainment.

With encouragement from Doug Harper to “shoot for the stars,” the goal was clear: create something larger than ever before that gave the community a fun, affordable, and family-friendly night out. Adding live music was the perfect way to elevate the experience.

Stephanie shared that her favorite part of every event is connecting with vendors, and reminding them how much they are appreciated. “I know what it’s like to not be seen,” she explained, “and I want our vendors to know they matter.”

She was blown away by the turnout. For a weekday during the school year, the risk was real that crowds might be thin — but the opposite happened. The day stayed steady, and after 4 p.m. the street was full, proving that Fusion Fest truly brought the community together.

Building Community Downtown

The Cherry Street Fusion Festival proved what’s possible when creativity, collaboration, and community spirit come together. From live music and nearly 25 vendors and food trucks lining Cherry Street, to families and friends filling downtown Nevada — the day showcased the best of our community.

Events like this do more than entertain. They help downtown thrive, drawing new faces into local businesses, supporting vendors, and reminding us that our historic district is the heart of the community. By working together, The Boutique Marketplace, Red Cherry Alley, Doug TV, and all the partners behind the festival created more than just an event — they created momentum.

This is just the beginning. With every Second Thursday, every event, every new connection, and each positive step forward — no matter how small — Nevada continues to build a stronger, more connected community.
