Restoration Begins on Historic Caboose in Downtown Nevada!
Exciting things are happening in downtown Nevada! Today marks the official beginning of the long-anticipated restoration of the historic caboose, a beloved local landmark that has stood as a symbol of our community’s rail heritage for decades.
The first phase of the project kicked off this morning as Gammon Glass, a trusted local business, began replacing the windows on the caboose. Their skilled team is helping bring new life to the structure and adding protection from the elements.
This restoration effort builds on past community initiatives and ongoing efforts to preserve our town’s history. The caboose, which has been a familiar sight near the historic square, holds sentimental value for many residents and visitors. With every piece restored, we move one step closer to preserving a piece of Nevada’s railroad story for future generations to enjoy.
Stay tuned for more updates as restoration continues! We’ll be sharing progress photos, behind-the-scenes peeks, and ways you can get involved or support the project.
Let’s celebrate this exciting new chapter in downtown Nevada’s story—one window at a time!
