Community Grill: Building Community Downtown
On July 24th, something special happened in the heart of Downtown Nevada. Earp Park came alive from 5–8 PM with laughter, full plates, and new connections as neighbors gathered for a free community dinner — and it was more than just a meal.
This event, titled "Community Grill," was all about creating space to slow down, share stories, and celebrate the spirit of our town. Up to 500 community members were welcomed with a delicious spread of grilled pork chops, chicken, burgers, veggies, and baked beans — all served with heart by local volunteers who care deeply about our community.
What truly made the evening memorable were all the friendly faces that filled the park, creating a welcoming energy that made it easy to relax and connect. A simple but fun icebreaker — sharing one interesting fact about yourself — helped spark conversations among neighbors who may have never met before. The result? A night full of genuine smiles, new connections, and a renewed sense of community.
These events are a testament to what happens when people come together with intention — and we’re doing it again soon!
📅 Mark your calendars for the next “Community Grill” night on Wednesday, August 28th at Earp Park from 5–8 PM. Whether you came in July or it’ll be your first time, all are welcome. Bring your appetite and your stories — and let’s continue building community, one evening at a time.
