At last night’s meeting, the City Council officially designated May 11–17 as National Police Week in Nevada and recognized May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day. Mayor Branham was joined by several officers as she presented the proclamation to honor their service.

Demonstrating its ongoing dedication to community safety, the Council also approved Nevada’s participation in Missouri’s new Blue Shield Program. This initiative will provide the Nevada Police Department with access to state grant funding for essential training and equipment. We extend our sincere gratitude to the men and women who work tirelessly to keep our community safe.
